Ingredients

  • 2 Granny smith apples (sliced thin)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 piece Old Amsterdam Goat Gouda cheese (approx. 5.3 oz.)
  • A few sprigs of chives
  • A few sprigs of dill
  • 2 handfuls of hazelnuts
  • 4 tbsp hazelnut oil

Preparation

Wash the apples and cut into thin slices using a mandolin or cheese slicer. Sprinkle the slices with the juice of a lemon so that they do not discolor and turn brown. Using a cheese slicer, scrape/slice thin slices of the Old Amsterdam Goat Gouda cheese, approximately 5.3 oz. Finely chop the chives. Cut the tops off of the dill and set both herbs aside. Roast the hazelnuts until golden brown in a dry frying pan and chop them coarsely. Arrange the apple slices and the Old Amsterdam Goat Gouda cheese slices on a large dish and sprinkle the salad with the chopped hazelnuts and herbs. Finish with hazelnut oil and serve for a delightful and delicious salad.
