Flaky croissants meet rich aged cheese and smooth dark chocolate in this unexpected flavor pairing. Warm, melty, and perfectly balanced, they’re guaranteed to impress at brunch.

Ingredients

3.5 oz Old Amsterdam, thinly sliced

1 can refrigerated croissant dough

1.7 oz dark chocolate, chopped

1 egg, beaten

How to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the croissant dough and cut it into triangles according to the instructions on the package.
  3. Place a slice of aged cheese and a few pieces of chocolate on the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the triangles up toward the narrow end to form croissants.
  5. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them with the beaten egg.
  6. Bake the croissants in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let the croissants cool for a few minutes before serving.

Cooking tip!

Use high-quality dark chocolate (70% cacao) to balance the rich, aged cheese flavor.
