Old Amsterdam Melt


  • 50 gr. Old Amsterdam –The original- grated
  • 4 slices of (light farmer’s) bread
  • 4 slices of Old Amsterdam -The Original- Cheese
  • 1 spring onion, cut into thin rings
  • Coarse mustard
  • Extra: sandwich maker and baking paper


Brush 2 slices of bread with the mustard. Top these slices of bread with slices of Old Amsterdam cheese and spring onion. Cover with the other slices of bread and sprinkle with extra grated Old Amsterdam cheese and cover with some baking paper. Bake the loaves in a sandwich maker until browned and the cheese has melted.

Tip: If you don’t have a sandwich maker, you can also bake the ‘melts’ in a preheated oven at 200 °C until they are brown and the cheese has melted.
