Preparation

  • Take the hamburger out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Peel and cut the red onion into thin rings and sprinkle generously with lime juice. Turn them over and let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Drain the roasted peppers and cut them into strips. Mix the mayonnaise with the sriracha, cut the tomato into slices and prepare the arugula.
  • Halve the sandwich and toast the cut sides on the BBQ or in a grill pan. Grill the hamburger on the BBQ or in a grill pan until nicely browned and just done.
  • Top the warm burger with Old Amsterdam Original and let it melt.
  • Spread the bottom of the sandwich with sriracha mayonnaise, spread some arugula and strips of pepper on it. Place the burger on top and divide the tomato, pickled onions and another piece of arugula on top. Cover with the sandwich lid.

*You can also roast the peppers yourself by placing the whole peppers on the hot BBQ on the grill, or roasting them in a 220 ℃ preheated oven on a baking tray. Turn the peel regularly and allow it to turn almost black (approx. 20 minutes). Pick them up with tongs and put them in a plastic (sandwich) bag. Tie the bag closed and let it sit for about 10 minutes. The heat then causes the skin to steam off the pepper. Remove the peppers from the bag, let them cool slightly and peel the skin from the flesh. Store in the refrigerator in a closed container.
