Sandwich with marinated mushrooms, Old Amsterdam Fresh Cream Cheese Original and pickled red onion

Fresh Cream Cheese Original with pieces of finely grated Old Amsterdam. A soft cream cheese with a full, intense taste. Delicious for lunch, drinks or barbecue.


  • Old Amsterdam Fresh Cream Cheese Original or Chives (125g)
  • 1 large red onion
  • 1 lime
  • (Chestnut) mushrooms 250g
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 small shallot
  • Salt and pepper
  • Small bunch of parsley
  • Fresh oregano
  • Arugula
  • 4 slices of white or brown sourdough bread

  • Peel and cut the onion into thin rings. Sprinkle generously with lime juice, stir and let marinate in a bowl for 40 minutes.
  • Cut the mushrooms into slices and chop the garlic and shallot as finely as possible. Finely chop the parsley and oregano and squeeze the lemon. Mix everything together, season with salt and pepper and let marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Spread the slices of bread generously with Fresh Cream Cheese Original or Chives and add some mushrooms. Then garnish with red onion and arugula.
